Summer Camp at Home: Kitchen!

So I was reading this article about holding summer camp at home this year and teaching your kids new skills in every room of the house...I thought that was pretty adventurous, especially since I don't think I have that many skills...but i thought i would give it a try...if you would like to join me, let's start in the kitchen!

Teaching kids to cook is a great skill that will help them throughout their life...I am not a great cook, so my kids often watch their father. I found this delicious recipe to get you started, something the kids can make and have on Saturday morning - Pancake Cupcakes...SO EASY AND SO GOOD!

*By the way - thanks to Lori for alerting me that this post was not up yet...I thought I put it up on Saturday but I must not have published it! Have a great day!

Be A Picnic SUPERSTAR!

I have always wanted to be the one who brings something to a church picnic and people go NUTSO over it...they a BEGGING me for the recipe and I happily oblige because I know it is truly the best thing I have ever made...that never happens.  I think one year I brought granola bars in a box - pathetic I know.  So I have been searching for a great recipe that will knock peoples socks off...and I think I found it!  Hot Potato Salad - like the sound of it? Wait till you see the ingredients - let the sock knocking off begin!!

Natalie Grant's Yummy Recipe!

I mentioned this on the show today...I have had this before - granted...it was not made by Natalie Grant...but it is DELICIOUS!!  I heard people talking about this recipe...that they found it on her blog so I had to check it out.  This seems like a good summertime recipe, especially if you like the salty/sweet combo (which I happen to think is divine!)....Enjoy!

Keeping the Kids Busy!

My mom used to have a chore jar and every time we said "I'm BORED mom!!" we had to head to the chore jar and we wouldn't be bored anymore! Ok - it worked...not fun...but it worked! So you can try that - or try what I found on my favorite blog today or maybe a combo of both! She calls it the summer tub o' fun and it is full of craft supplies from around the house - there is a list of supplies and cool ideas - all you have to do is click here!  Have a fun summer!!
